Description
The Global Procurement Support Section (GPSS) of UN Procurement Division on behalf of United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) intends to identify a Freight Forwarder for the provision of Sea and Inland Freight Forwarding Services from FCA Genoa Port, Italy to DAP Juba, South Sudan (Incoterms 2010). The requirement is for a one-time award for the shipment of Modular Prefabricated Structures packed in 241 x 20’ ISO Sea Containers (UNMISS owned). The weight for each container is approximately 9 Tons. At solicitation stage, bidders shall be asked to describe in their bids the detailed itinerary, i.e., how they intend to perform the pre-carriage from the loading port and the type of equipment they intend to use, if applicable, in accordance with the standard shipping terms and conditions. Further, bidders shall be requested to advise on the procedures/steps that will be taken to expedite the cargo through the transit port(s), so as to avoid any delay in delivery of the goods to the final destination. At the point of loading, the freight forwarder shall be responsible for any trucking and/or carriage for delivery to the port side, loading, stowing, lashing and securing, tallying, wharfage and all other handling costs and time related thereto; Trans-loading of cargo on pre-carrying vehicle from place of pick-up of cargo and/or on-carrying vehicle for safe transit to the final place of delivery and discharge of the cargo at the final place of delivery designated by UNMISS, i.e., at the UNMISS location in Juba. All import customs clearance fees in transit shall be included in the bid. An all-inclusive freight bid shall not include any direct taxes and customs duties from which the UN/UNMISS is exempt. The freight forwarder shall check all the items received from the commodity supplier and verify that they are received in good condition and as per FCR. Bid shall include detailed itinerary, cargo pick-up date, ETD at port of loading, and ETA at port of ischarge. The freight forwarder shall provide original shipping documents (Bill of Lading, Shipping Invoice, Packing List and other pertinent transport documents) to the consignee (UNMISS) as soon as the cargo is shipped. The freight forwarder shall provide a pre-shipping advice to the consignee (UNMISS), with shipping details, with the following marking: United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), UNMISS Headquarters Tomping Site, Near Juba Airport Juba, South Sudan.
