LRPS-2020-9160410 - CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR SUPERVISION OF DRILLING AND BOREHOLE REHABILITATION WORKS IN SIX PROVINCES OF ZAMBIA

UNICEF, under the leadership of the Ministry of Water Development Sanitation and Environmental Protection (MWDSEP) and in collaboration with the Provincial and District Authorities plans to support improvement of water supply services in six provinces of Zambia during 2020 and 2022, under the umbrella of Scaling-up Nutrition (SUN-2) Programme. In this regard, it is planned to drill, and equip of the same with handpumps, over 500 boreholes and rehabilitate 1,000 existing non-functional boreholes. It may be noted that the number of boreholes to be drilled/rehabilitated is tentative and subject to change, pending the planned site assessments and availability of funds.

In this context, UNICEF is seeking services of a qualified engineering consulting firm,  for site assessments; review/updating of available designs/drawings, bills of quantities, bidding documents, environmental and social management plans; and supervision and monitoring of interventions relating to borehole drilling and rehabilitation and construction of SOMAP shops, including compliance with Environment, Social, Health and Safety plans and guidelines. Please note that the scope of this consultancy may be extended to additional districts/provinces, depending upon emerging needs.
