Description

UNICEF and UNMISS are currently jointly carrying out a water supply project in Juba, South Sudan. The project involves the following:

  • Construction of a raw water intake works on the River Nile,
  • Construction of 4650m3 /day Water Treatment Plant (WTP) for UNICEF.
  • Construction of a water delivery pumping main to three 300m3 storage reservoirs at Jebel Hill from the UNICEF WTP.
  • Construction of a gravity water supply system to 7No. Public Water Kiosks complete with 75m3 elevated storage tanks at each kiosk and a delivery mains to Protection of Civilian (POC) Site
  • Construction a pumping main and a new 700m3/day WTP for UNMISS at their UN House compound, and
  • Construction of water distribution network within UN HOUSE compound
