Terms of Reference (summary):
Four-colour printing, layout of French and Spanish versions, and shipment to two Geneva-based locations of ITC’s quarterly magazine, the International Trade Forum. There will be 4 issues per year, 3 languages per issue (English, French and Spanish). The English will be fully prepared and requires printing only. French and Spanish versions will be laid out by the printer, based on the English version. Each version will be submitted to the printer separately. Each issue has 40 pages, format 21 x 27 cm. Printer must furnish paper (80g interior, 150g cover). Printers must be ready to work as part of an electronic publishing chain, including ability to download from ftp, dedicated email for layout operators, ability to work with marked PDFs for translations and facility in using InDesign CS. Colour checks will be required. Frequently there will be short lead times for printing and delivery. Estimated press run: English 10 000 copies, French 2 500 copies and Spanish 3 000 copies. ITC will be issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the above-mentioned Printing/Layout of ITC Forum Magazine. The contract will be issued for a period of four years 2010-2013, renewable annually.
With a view to pre-select potential suppliers for these services, this call for expression of interest is being posted for companies with 5 years of experience in printing and layout of important magazines such as the ITC International Trade Forum.
The RFP and the terms of reference will be sent to those suppliers that have been selected by ITC to participate in the call for tender.
Submissions for expression of interest shall include the following elements, which represent the criteria for the pre-selection of suppliers:
- Organization, structure, and number and qualifications of professionals working in the company.
- Financial reports for the last 2 years (2007-2008), audited by an independent Audit company.
- List of recent most important contracts for similar services, including those for international organizations.
- Your acceptance, in writing, of the UN Supplier Code of Conduct posted on ITC Procurement Website.
Only those companies with experience in the provision of printing and layout services, experience working in a multi-cultural context and with a strong commitment to respect practices for the profession, strict confidentiality of the process, including the UN Supplier Code of Conduct, should express their interest.
