Media/Communication Specialist
He or she will work under the supervision of the Support to Zambia's Electoral Cycle 2015-17 (SZEC) Programme Manager. The Media/Communications Specialist will design, coordinate, and implement the strategies, and mechanisms necessary to implement a targeted media and voter information campaign, and a voter information training program for ECZ. The Media/Communications Advisor will work in coordination with peer Media Relations/Public Information staff in ECZ.
Internal functions of the Media/Communications Specialist will be selecting, designing, creating and implementing plans/strategies for media and voter engagement and trainings through and in coordination with ECZ, and will be based on the context as well as needs and technical assessments. The Internal functions of the Elections Media/Communications Specialist will also include working with partner international organizations, and the UNDP Country Office, to support the media campaign-related activities of their programming.
External functions of the Media/Communications Specialist will include but not be limited to identifying appropriate partners and modes of delivery for the SZEC project voter information/media campaign, creating broadcast programming, designing and implementing campaigns through television, radio, Internet and mobile telephony – all in coordination with and support to ECZ and working closely with the SZEC Voter Education Specalist.
