Description
1.The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) has a requirement for the provision of Freight Forwarding, Transportation, customs clearance and related services for goods ordered from suppliers and contingent owned equipment (COE) shipments at the airports and seaports of entry listed below, delivery of the shipments from those ports of entry to (MONUSCO’s) designated place of final destination or place of delivery within the DRC, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa or between these countries and the DRC, on an as and when required basis.
2. The UNPD Global Procurement Support Section (GPSS), therefore invites qualified vendors to submit their Expression of Interest for the Provision of logistics services including freight forwarding, transportation, customs clearance and related services (multiple locations) to MONUSCO.
3.The Services include the following:
a. Customs Clearances and related services of MONUSCO’s Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) and United Nations Owned Equipment (UNOE) at Airports, Seaports and Borders of entry. Border crossings include N'Djili, Goma, Lubumbashi, Kisanagni, Bunia, Bukavu, Beni, Matadi & Boma in DR Congo, Entebbe & Kasese in Uganda, Kigali in Rwanda, Bujumbura in Burundi, Jomo Kenyata/Nairobi & Mombasa in Kenya, Dar esalaam inTanzania and Durban in Republic of South Africa on an as and when required basis.
b. Freight forwarding of shipments from those ports of entry to MONUSCO’s designated place of final destination or place of delivery within the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Burundi, Republic of South Africa (RSA), Mozambique, or between these countries and the DRC, on an as and when required basis
4.The estimated average cargo moved per month is 1,980 tons.
5. The proposed contract period is for two years with an extension of three additional one year period (2+1+1+1), provided that the mandate and/or funding of MONUSCO has not been curtailed, terminated or otherwise all subject to satisfactory performance of the Contractor and requirements for provision of the services.
6. Any resulting contract (hereinafter called “the Contract”) shall be non-exclusive. MONUSCO reserves the right to award a contract to more than one Proposer as it deems necessary on a best value basis. Under this contract Task Order’s requesting transportation of shipment / cargo via road, rail, lake, and river and or air will be issued by MONUSCO (MOVCON) {Movement Control Section}
