Description
1. The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) intends to conduct a competitive solicitation exercise for the provision and operation of a retail shop, to be located in Saint Martin Camp in Skouriotissa.
2. The retail shop shall sell items such as chips, biscuits, crackers, candies, chocolates, soft drinks, hot drinks, ice creams, milk, honey, sandwiches, burgers, personal hygiene products (soap, body wash, body spray, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash) and souvenir items. In addition, common electronic items such as laptops, mobile phones, headphones, power banks, USB flash drives, smart watches and other similar items, as may be reasonably required, may also be offered for sale upon customer request.
3. There are approximately 195 personnel accessing Saint Martin Camp on a daily basis, a percentage of whom may choose to use the requested services. However, UNFICYP does not guarantee that any minimum number of personnel with daily access to the premises will utilize the requested services. The retail shop will not constitute the sole catering outlet. All payments shall be settled directly by the recipients of the services and UNFICYP shall not be responsible for the settlement of any costs related to this Contract.
4. UNFICYP shall provide the facility of 57 sqm within Saint Martin Camp, on an "as is" basis. The successful Service Provider shall provide all equipment, materials and personnel at their own expense. The minimum service hours required are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00 hours, with optional working hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
5. The Contract shall be for an initial period of three (3) years with the UNFICYP's sole option to extend the term of the contract for an additional two (2) periods of one (1) year each (3+1+1).
6. In this regard, UNFICYP would like to identify vendors that would be interested to participate in the competitive solicitation exercise. Qualified vendors are requested to express their interest by submitting the Vendor Response Form of this EOI electronically (through the link provided below) before the closing date above. Women-owned and disabililty-inclusive suppliers are strongly encouraged to express interest.
7. In case you have difficulties submitting your interest electronically, please contact Stella Kitti at unficyp-procurement@un.org, no later than Friday, 3 October 2025. The Vendor Response Form is available in our website, www.unficyp.org.
8. UNFICYP reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding and mere expression of interest does not automatically warrant participation in the competitive bidding exercise. UNFICYP reserves the right to change or cancel any of these requirements at any time during the EOI and/or the solicitation process.
9. The UNGM registration is mandatory for responding to this EOI. Interested vendors are strongly recommended to submit the required documentation at the United Nations Global Marketplace at www.ungm.org for Basic Level. Information on the prerequisites for Basic Level registration can be found at https://www.ungm.org/Public/Pages/RegistrationProcess.
