Provision of Borehole Drilling Services in Mali

The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced and registered Hydro geologists and deep well drilling Contractors, with significant presence and experience respectively in Mali, or the nearby countries; to carry out detailed hydrogeological surveys/studies and or subsequent drilling of deep water wells in the following locations: 1. Kidal 2. Tessalit 3. Gao 4. Tombuctu For the drilling works, the contractor will carry out the following: 1) drilling borehole at the most suitable location identified using the geophysical surveys carried out. 2) installation of casings and screens; 3) provision of gravel packing; 4) development of boreholes; 5) test pumping; 6) obtaining water and rock samples; 7) water quality analysis. Required wells will be sunk through homogeneous and non-homogeneous variety of geological formations, ranging from alluvial deposits, sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks subsurface structures. The successful Contractor for the wells drilling program, will be required to design, supply, install submersible electrically driven borehole pumps which shall be of the totally submersible radial or mixed flow borehole type, with safe yields of not less than 10 cubic metres of water per hour. The hydro geological studies, will involve a review of existing databases, maps, reports and other relevant documents, and use of appropriate information derived from the said data bases, to conduct detailed field surveys at selected locations, using the most up to date remote sensing technology; to facilitate most cost effective deep water wells drilling at the selected locations within the area of operation. In addition, the Contractor will be required to commission and hand over the wells to the designated UN – Mission management official. Detailed technical specifications, standards, Statement of Works (SOW) for the works services required above, will be included in the UN solicitation document that will be sent out to all interested registered UN vendors responding to this EOI. Interested UN registered vendors, may offer all required services stated above (hydro geological surveys and well drilling) as a complete package or separately.
