Supply and Delivery of Metal Steel Structure Materials

Background: UN-Habitat is implementing a project in Zimbabwe: “Harare Sustainable City Initiatives: Promoting Carbon Neutral Urban Basic Services and Energy Efficient Built Environment” in Zimbabwe. The project aims at enhancing the overall well-being, health, and security conditions of Zimbabwe citizens through access to better urban basic services from sustainable solid waste management and the use of renewable energy systems; the project will also create systems for access to affordable carbon-neutral building materials. This will be achieved through improved municipal solid waste management operations, energy and resource recovery, clean energy generation and promotion of climate-responsive building material production. The project will enhance energy access to targeted communities by providing a reliable and renewable energy supply generated from locally available resources. One of the project outputs is to address the energy shortage in low-income urban communities by demonstrating the productive use of renewable energy solutions by implementing multifunctional clean energy centres in four locations. The centre, which will be powered by renewable solar electricity, will have several activities, including capacity-building and income-generating activities. In the process, UN Habitat will construct 5 Multifunctional Clean Energy Centres. OBJECTIVE United Nations Office in Nairobi on behalf of UN Habitat is looking for capable suppliers to Supply and Deliver steel structure materials including steel frames (columns and beams) and roofing materials. These will make a warehouse to accommodate centre facilities, including the installation of solar panels. The delivery location will be Harare Zimbabwe. SCOPE OF WORKS: Supply and delivery of materials with the following quantities and specifications: Building Size/warehouse: 40m*20m*6m Building area 800m2 The structure should be able to accommodate the following parameters: • Wind Pressure : 0.5kN/m2 • Roof Dead Load : 20kg/m2 • Rood Live Load : 30kg/m2 Some of the materials to be supplied are: Columns and Beams,Roof Purlins ,roofing panelsand related accessories. A detailed Bill of quantities will be shared when solicitation document is launched.
