Description
1. The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from competent and qualified vendors for the provision of airport runaway rehabilitation and/or maintenance services (for up to 3 years) in Beletweyne, Somalia. The runaway is ca. 2,160m length x 32m width. The contractor shall provide all necessary heavy equipment, excavator with jackhammer, qualified operators, maintenance of equipment, fuel, lubricants and all consumables, water supply, workforce, supervision, safety signage and all other incidentals necessary for the successful and timely completion of the work. The overall requirement is as follows: A. Rehabilitation of portions of the runaway including but not limited to runway cement base stabilization, removal of loose material, watering, dumping, processing, and compaction of subbase and improved base with gravel and cement. Gravel must be from approved quarries, cement shall be provided by UNSOS. Excavation of flood control ditch. B. On a as-and-when-required basis, cleaning the runway surface with mechanical broom mounted on suitable tractor, patching the base surface showing roughness, sweeping with a mechanical broom to reinstate to original condition. 2. Details of the final Statement of Requirement will be provided within the UN solicitation document, which is planned to be issued in November 2022.
