Description
1. The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) intends to conduct a competitive solicitation exercise for the provision of travel services for its next rotation of troops. With a view to give abundant opportunity to all competent companies to actively participate in the solicitation exercise, the travel service requirement compared to the previous rotations has been significantly improved whereby the mandatory bid conditions have been minimized. 2. The travel services require rotation of approximately 500 persons (+/-250 each way) from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Larnaca, Cyprus and return using IATA licensed commercial regular flights. The rotation is tentatively scheduled to take place during the period end August/early September 2012 and the whole rotation must be completed over a ten-day period and in 3-4 flights, each direction. 3. In this regard UNFICYP would like to identify vendors that would be interested to participate in the competitive solicitation exercise. Qualified IATA registered and General Sales Agents of IATA airlines flying to/from Larnaca capable of providing travel services are requested to express their interest by providing all relevant information including complete company details and experience profile using the attached Vendor Response Form, also available in our website www.unficyp.org. The interest should be sent to the attention of Chief Procurement Officer either via fax +357-22-614493 or via email unficyp-procurement@un.org no later than 30 March 2012. 4. This is not an invitation for submission of a proposal. This is a request for expressions of interest (EOI), in order to identify qualified companies interested in participating in the solicitation exercise. 5. The UNFICYP reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant participation in the competitive bidding exercise. The UNFICYP reserves the right to change or cancel any of these requirements at any time during the EOI and/or the solicitation process.
