Description
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) provides support to national and subnational veterinary diagnostic laboratories, which play a crucial role in preventing, detecting and responding to health threats. In the past five (5) years, FAO has procured laboratory reagents and consumables for more than USD 2 million to address health threats worldwide (especially in West and Central Africa), mostly in emergency situations. It is foreseen that the Organization may spend the same amount in the next five (5) years, to ensure the control of future outbreaks, as well as the prevention, detection and response to a range of emerging infectious diseases. This ITB is finalized at the establishment of one or more Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) for the supply of laboratory reagents and consumables, for an initial term of three (3) years, renewable on a yearly basis for additional two (2) years, subject to satisfactory performance of the Contractor(s). Signature of LTA(s) shall not in any way be deemed to be a firm commitment on the part of FAO regarding any quantity for future purchases. Actual quantities to be ordered will depend on future requests and will be confirmed through issuance of Purchase Orders (PO) by FAO Headquarters and Decentralized Offices. If you are interested in submitting an offer, please make sure to have, at least, a Basic Registration with UNGM (ww.ungm.org). Instructions on how to access FAO tender documents through UNGM are attached to the present Notice under the “DOCUMENTS” tab; please follow these instructions when submitting your bid. OFFERS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED IF SUBMITTED THROUGH THE UNGM PORTAL. OFFERS NOT SUBMITTED THROUGH THE UNGM PORTAL WILL BE INVALIDATED. Many thanks and best regards, FAO PROCUREMENT SERVICE
