The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance to contribute to the definition of an approach to strengthen the resilience of the municipality of Cocody, in Côte d'Ivoire, by identifying 2 pilot projects for a) the revegetation of urban spaces, b) the restoration of mangroves in the coastal zone of the municipality, based on plant species available nationally, and adapted (resistant) to the climate of the municipality of Cocody. The pilot projects could be both nature-based solutions projects and technological projects including the use and application of technological tools for the vegetation of urban spaces and the restoration of mangroves in the commune of Cocody in Côte d'Ivoire. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance. The Technical assistance is approved now and will: i) Carry out a territorial and geo-spatial diagnosis of the commune of Cocody in Côte d'Ivoire by the use of satellite technologies; ii) Identify the sites for the 2 pilot projects in consultation with all the stakeholders; iii) Elaborate a portfolio of options for a) the vegetation of the urban space, b) the restoration of mangroves in the littoral zone of Cocody; iv) Select 2 pilot projects, one for the vegetation of the urban space and another for the restoration of mangroves; v) Write a concept note for each of the 2 identified pilot projects in order to facilitate the access to climate finance for the commune. The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
