Tender description:
RFP_ Consultancy Service for Solar PV Site Screening in the West Bank oPt.Objective:Renewable energy, especially solar PV, is critical in meeting the electricity demand in the West Bank, which is expected to double by 2040 from 1300 MW at the end of 2023. Its low-cost relative to other energy sources will reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions, and improve energy security for Palestinians.
The Office of the Quartet (OQ) is supporting the PA by building on an existing desktop study identifying potential Palestinian utility-scale solar PV sites for development in Area C of the West Bank. The assignment objective is to identify which sites will have a high likelihood of advancing from a planning and legal perspective to advance to development and construction.
