United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter refered to as UNON) on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking to establish Contract with a qualified contractor to supply and apply the rehabilitation of buildings' facades and street services and surface in Sabra El Jazzar street. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of life and support stability in the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Beirut city, Lebanon. UN-Habitat with support from Beirut municipality will intervene in Sabra to alleviate poverty and improve the urban conditions of the neighborhood through using participatory planning methods and community-based decision-making processes which promotes an integrated response that secures benefits of interventions to all residents. Sabra is a densely built area composed of three gatherings and informal settlements characterized by substandard living conditions and high density. El Jazzar street is considered as one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods within Sabra which had witnessed several tensions incidents in the past ten years and suffering from enormous socio-economic problems such as overcrowded population, bad housing conditions, deteriorated infrastructure, and weak local economy.
