Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming tender exercise for provision of GSM and Gateway Services to UNON. The Information & Communications Technology Services of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON/ICTS) provides communications and IT support to all the United Nations agencies, funds and program residing within and around UN Gigiri Complex. Its specific task is to establish flexible, resilient and cost effective local and international voice and data network for the UN community. UNON/ICTS has its own telecommunication and ICT network that supports over 5000 staff members and enables staff to communicate worldwide. For the specific purpose of mobile and wireless communication, the UN has an 85-metre antenna tower capable of line of sight communication within Nairobi to enable the organization have adequate coverage in the complex. The objective of this requirement is to: a) Provide affordable and high quality local and international multi-band wireless voice/data ( GSM) services. b) Enable UN staff members carry out their functions at any location of the world (mobile or fixed access). c) Increase efficiency and productivity through flexible and affordable mobile data and voice communications. d) Increase the security of UN staff through affordable mobile and data communication while in travel status within or outside the host country. The contract is anticipated to be awarded for an initial period of three (3) years with the option to extend for additional two (2) years subject to satisfactory performance.
