The United Nations Dag Hammarskjold Library is looking for a vendor to get into a contract agreement for the provision of binding services of UN documents for preservation purposes. The initial period of the agreement would be 2 years with an option to extend it yearly upto a maximum of 2 additional years. REQUIRED: Library binding with letterpress stamping. Erasure Of hand written pages numbers in non-repro blue pencil. UN FURNISHES: Documents and publications collated into sets to be bound. QUANTITY: Approx. 750 volumes per year INK: Case and stamp debossing on spine only. Call numbers 2.5" from bottom of spine PAPER: - End papers: ph. 7.5, alkaline reserve 2% (TAPPI), no groundwood (ANSI/TAPPI), Basis 80 il. - Inlay paper: ph. 7.0, paperhead, grain long, bulk 0.012 COVER: Green Buckram, Vellum Finish group F (ANSI). ADHESIVES: Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsion (case) Copolymer Emulsion (Spine) BINDERS BOARD: Commercial Standards, CS 50-34, 98 pt. FINISHING: Oversewn, trim (3-page half gum) using cotton cover polyester thread (U-T-276H) or nylon thread (U-7-2950) and No. l4-4 cord. Round and back (square back). Sewing tape: l/2" wide, 32 per inch, tensile (strip) filling thread 24 lbs. STAMPING FOIL: (AAT T-CC-23-72 FTM) Black SCHEDULED: Contract to start approximately on April 2010 More technical specification will be given to the vendors in the solicitation documents.
