Description

UNICEF has been supporting the Government of South Sudan and its partners to provide life-saving services including provision of quality clinical management of rape (CMR) to survivors of sexual violence during emergencies. UNICEF fulfils this work by supporting efforts aimed at increasing the capacities of both government and non-government partners to provide a protective environment and deliver high-quality interventions. A functioning protection system requires capacities commensurate to what the system sets out to achieve. Since the 2013 conflict in South Sudan, as part of its Gender Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) UNICEF has continued to support the government and its partners to provide CMR services. As a way of addressing specific CMR capacity gaps in most parts of the country, UNICEF engaged an experienced and competent institution to support the process of comprehensive capacity and professional development in CMR from 2017 until early 2018. Key investments included the training of trainers (ToT) in CMR and training of Health Care Personnel (HCP) in CMR. This took  place within a context of declining basic infrastructural and structural resources for CMR.

OBJECTIVE

To conduct post training follow up in Pibor to support the setting up of quality CMR services in line with best practices and acceptable standards

To strengthen capacity of previously trained healthcare providers to apply the skills acquired during the training to be able to provide quality and timely services.
