Description
Background: The United Nations International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for the Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed on the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia
since 1991 (the “UN-ICTY”) has three court rooms, administrative offices and legal offices housed in two different locations in The Hague. The UN-ICTY operates a third facility, a detention facility, located within the Penitentiary Complex in Scheveningen. In addition, the UN-ICTY has Field offices located in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia), Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), to assist in its work. The UN-ICTY further rents a total of 7 seven apartments (three in Sarajevo and four in Belgrade) to accommodate UN-ICTY staff whilst deployed to the offices in the respective countries.
The UN-ICTY leases all its facilities from private landlords, except for the detention facility in The Hague, which is leased from the government of The Netherlands. Landlords are required to provide risk insurance for these premises.
It should be noted that the ICTY provide office, parking and or office space to the following organizations/companies/contractors.

2.0 Addresses, building specifications and required coverage for each facility/office space will be provided in the tender documentation.
3.0 Current Insurance: The UN-ICTY purchases personal property insurance, electronic data processing insurance for its equipment, office contents and furniture.
4.0 Loss History: There have been 8 property claims submitted by the UN-ICTY since 1998. No other claims have been submitted. All claims against the United Nations and its personnel are also submitted to the United Nations in New York for disposition and settlement.
