Provision of abrasive blast-cleaning, painting, and refurbishment services on an as and when required basis to the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC, Brindisi)

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), with its Headquarters located in Brindisi (Italy) seeks an appropriately qualified contractor for the establishment of a long-term contract for the provision of abrasive blast-cleaning, painting, and refurbishment services on an "as and when required" basis. The services are intended for a wide range of automotive and metal-based components. Bidders must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce for abrasive blast-cleaning activities and provide a certificate of compliance. The Contract will have an initial duration of three (3) years, with the option to be extended for an additional two (2) periods of one (1) year each, up to a maximum contract period of five (5) years. The Services will be performed at the Contractor’s premises. Contractor must have a sufficiently sized painting facility to accommodate various components, and suitable material handling equipment, such as forklifts, is required for loading and unloading components. Interested vendors must demonstrate their ability to meet the required response times, as specified in the Scope of Requirements (SOR), and may be required to establish a local presence in the locations where the services will be delivered. An indication of the Services to be performed is as follows, however, not limited to: -High abrasive blast-cleaning using sand/grit. -Moderate abrasive blast-cleaning using glass media or similar. -Primer coating and painting of components within 4-24 hours after cleaning to prevent rust-back. Standards: Abrasive blast-cleaning services must comply with ISO 8501 to ISO 8504 standards, or equivalent recognized standards. Painting services must comply with ISO 12944 standards, or equivalent recognized standards. Dry Film Thickness (DFT): Specified by UNGSC, typically between 300-400 microns. At the Bid submission, Vendors will be requested to provide evidence of compliance with these requirements and any applicable standards. Details of the technical evaluation criteria and other requirements will be provided under the Invitation to Bid at a later stage.
