Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from fully licensed and authorized firms specializing in fit out works for an upcoming competitive bidding process. The project entails the refurbishment and fit-out of a state-of-the-art Joint Security Operations Centre (JSOC) at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya. Given the multidisciplinary nature of the project, a consortium of contractors or single general contractors with long-standing contractual or construction alliances with experienced specialist subcontractors in mechanical, electrical, and security installations are encouraged to express interest. In a consortium, the principal/prime contractor should have core competence in building construction with extensive experience in major renovations and fit-out works. The aim of this project is to modernize and enhance the functionality of the JSOC at UNON. The fit-out will provide a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure to support efficient security monitoring, incident response, and coordination. The new JSOC will ensure a secure and ergonomic working environment for 24/7 operations, integrating advanced surveillance, communication, and access control systems to improve overall security management. The awarded contractor will undertake the following tasks within a total approximate floor space of 62 m² and a project timeline of six (6) months: 1. Site preparation, including demolition of existing finishes. 2. Installation of interior finishes, including flooring and ceilings. 3. Installation of new workstations and cabinetry. 4. Supply and installation of furniture and ergonomic seating arrangements for 24/7 operations. 5. Electrical, voice/data, and antenna cabling. 6. HVAC system installation and integration with the existing infrastructure. 7. Security system installations, including video surveillance, access control, and communication networks. Following the closing date of this EOI, UNON will issue a formal solicitation document to potential companies that have expressed interest. The solicitation document will provide complete details of the qualification requirements.
