Description
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy, hereby solicits proposals for the Provision of Technical Expertise in methane mitigation, livestock, rice cultivation and climate policy engagement. IFAD is seeking to recruit a qualified a consultancy firm specializing in methane mitigation, agriculture, and climate policy. The selected firm will lead the development of a guidebook as part of IFAD’s initiative to enhance climate resilience among smallholder farmers and reform global food systems through the new Reducing Agricultural Methane Programme (RAMP). The guidebook will be prepared to assist countries to mainstream Global Methane Pledge objectives into NDCs, taking into consideration policy environments, costs involved, institutional capacities, etc. The guidebook will establish a standardized methodology for planning, mainstreaming and costing methane pledges at the national level. The expected duration of the contract is of 6 months. The consultancy firm will be responsible for developing the guidebook, ensuring the inclusion of a standardized methodology to guide countries mainstream methane mitigation to their NDCs, the inclusion of a template for alignment checks, the identification of KPIs, and the drafting and dissemination of knowledge and best practices. The successful bidder will be responsible for managing the project and reporting progress on a monthly basis, collaborating closely with the IFAD team to meet established milestones and timelines.
