Description
The United Nations (UN) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the supply, delivery and after sales support of Satellite Earth Stations hardware and related support and maintenance services. The equipment is to be used in support of UN political and peace-keeping missions throughout the world and may be used by different UN entities as the need arises. Missions often operate in locations where communication infrastructure is absent or highly compromised and rely on satellites technology to guarantee uninterrupted communication. The environmental conditions of the mission locations are often harsh with high temperatures, large amount of dust and violent thunder storms. The UN is therefore looking for equipment from reputable brands which are compliant with international standards. The UN's requirement consists of satellites earth stations in sizes up to 4.3m and electronics such as modems, tranceivers and LNBs in for the C, Ku and X band frequency bands both in fixed and mobile configurations. The requirement includes spare parts, training, installation and maintenance services. This requirement is not for satellite capacity or managed services. The intent of this EOI notice is to encourage experienced, reputable suppliers of the subject System to express their interest (if already registered as UN vendor) or apply for registration as a UN vendor so that they can be considered for invitation to bid in such solicitations. For manufacturers who are not registered as UN vendors, the registration process is in two parts: Corporate/financial and technical/operational, both need to be completed. For information on the first part and to download the corporate/financial application, find here (http://www.un.org/depts/ptd/register.htm). For the technical/operational application, find here (http://www.un.org/depts/ptd/pdf/tech.pdf) Please also note that this request does not constitute a solicitation. The Procurement Division reserves the right to change or cancel this request at any time. It should be noted that by submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee or obligate the UN to invite any particular company to participate in the subsequent bidding process. Only those prospective companies that are deemed qualified by UN upon completion of an objective evaluation of their submission to the EOI will be invited to participate in any subsequent tender exercise. Kindly mail or fax your duly completed EOI form. All documents for registration must be submitted in clear and legible print. The full technical requirements and details will be provided with a formal solicitation document to be issued at a later stage soon after the closing date for this EOI. It is anticipated that a systems contract for supply of the Satellite Earth Stations and Related Services will be established for an initial period of three (3) years, with option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
