Description

UNICEF REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI), ON BEHALF OF UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance EBOLA VACCINES AGAINST SUDAN EBOLAVIRUS – including multivalent vaccines
Reference EOI-VC-2022-01

The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is for UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (‘Gavi’) to collect information from developers/manufacturers on their plans to advance development of Ebola vaccines to protect against the Sudan Ebolavirus disease through to licensure. This includes monovalent vaccines against Sudan Ebolavirus as well as vaccines which protect against additional Ebolavirus strains.

The information will help UNICEF, Gavi and partners understand the support needed by developers/manufacturers to bring their Sudan Ebolavirus vaccine candidate to market, including accelerating availability of licensed vaccine(s) and in the interim to potentially make available investigational doses for compassionate use. The findings of this EOI will also enable UNICEF and partners to understand the type of support needed by developers/manufactures, including any supply chain or technical support and for Gavi to evaluate the need for any “Advance Purchase Commitment”-like mechanism to provide financial support for specific developers/manufacturers against pre-defined regulatory and scale-up milestones.

Developers/manufacturers of vaccine candidates against other Ebolavirus strains (Bundibugyo virus, Taï Forest virus, and Zaire Ebolavirus) which have not yet achieved WHO prequalification are also encouraged to respond to this EOI as this information will contribute to shaping UNICEF’s overall procurement strategy for Ebola vaccines
