Developing a National Framework for deploying and scaling up E-Mobility (EM) in Tanzania

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for provision of technical assistance to develop a national framework to deploy and scale e-mobility in Tanzania. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance. The overall objective of this technical assistance is to develop an effective national framework for the deployment and scale-up of e-mobility in Tanzania through national electric vehicle policies, market development and capacity building. Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Development of communication documents • Market assessment to establish a baseline and evaluate the market potential for electric vehicles • Conduct of an EV market assessment • Development of the national electric vehicles policy • Development of EV implementation framework and business models • Development of a GCF concept note for one business model overall • Capacity building and awareness creation on electric vehicles The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
