Objectives and Scope:

United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, Communication and Information, the Sciences and Culture. UNESCO’s programmes contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in Agenda 2030, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. This procurement notice relates to the UNESCO project:

Keeping in view the prevalence of COVID -19 in the country, there is a need of continuous sensitization and awareness raising on prevention and protection measures among the target communities. UNESCO with support of its implementing partners is closely work with parents, communities, district functionaries and schools to create awareness about possible impact of the COVID-19 on education and its long-term impact on society.

To ensure safety of students and teachers at schools, the project will enhance the health and hygiene facilities in school. In addition, schools will also be provided necessary protective products such as face masks, hand sanitizers, hand soaps, hygiene kits, sanitary napkins and temperature guns to ensure hygiene supportive environment and to control the outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact on students and teachers attending schools.

Target Geographical Area: The programme interventions will take place in 321 primary schools in marginalized communities of district Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh in Punjab province and district Astore and Ghanche in Gilgit Baltistan province and organizations can request a copy of the solicitation documents if they are interested.
