Description

Background
Bentiu protection of civilian (PoC) site was established in December 2013 with 113,310 people seeking protection in
the site. As per October 2020 population count findings, Bentiu PoC site's population stands at 97,321 individuals.
UNICEF, amongst other services, is supporting solid waste management through garbage collection from Bentiu
PoC, transportation and final disposal to landfill site including operation and maintenance of the landfill site. The
purpose of garbage collection, transportation and final disposal to landfill site is to prevent the onset and spread of
WASH related diseases among the vulnerable populations of the PoC particularly hazardous in congested
displaced sites like the Bentiu PoC.
A Long-Term Agreement (LTA) for garbage collection for Bentiu PoC for the period (1st March 2021 to 28 February
2024) is therefore requested to be established as per the terms of reference
