Description
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) seeks an appropriately qualified contractor to establish a contract for the inspection, removal and disposal services of asbestos and rockwool at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy The required services shall include, but will not be limited to: - Inspection of the construction site(s) for technical advice and feedback; - Site preparations activities such as, provision of Safety Plan (POS), mobilization, provision and installation of scaffolding materials, etc.; - Remediation of roofing built with asbestos-cement panels installed on any type of structure; - Encapsulation (according to the Italian Ministerial Decree DM 20/08/1999 and subsequent amendments) of asbestos-cement panels; - Removal-reclamation of asbestos-cement chimneys, pipes and gutters, materials contaminated by asbestos, asbestos-cement tanks/caissons, rockwool panels in compliance with the applicable Italian laws and, in particular, with the Italian Decree of the Ministry of Health dated 06.09.1994; - Sampling and analysis of suspected materials (aimed to ascertain the presence of asbestos); - Preparation of the asbestos abatement report in accordance with art. 256 paragraph 2, of the Italian Legislative Decree 81/08, and submission of the same to the competent Local Health Unit (AUSL); - Site preparation activities such as, provision of Safety Plan (POS), mobilization, provision and installation of scaffolding materials, etc; - Disposal of all construction waste including authorization from the local environmental authority to transport and dispose all discarded materials to an authorized dump area specific to the typology of the material. The Contractor shall supply all materials to carry out the services and will be also responsible for all the activities related to execution of the works such as, provision of equipment, tools, vehicles with operator (e.g. mobile cranes with telescopic boom), qualified personnel, travel, insurance and any other activity that may be required. The Contractor shall be able to commence the services no later than seven (7) days from the receipt of a Service Release Order issued by the UNGSC. The resulting contract will be established for an initial period of three (3) years, with the UNGSC's sole option to extend the term of the contract for two (2) additional periods of one (1) year each (3+1+1). Interested Bidders will be required to attend a mandatory site visit at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy to inspect the premises where the services shall be performed. Full technical requirements and administrative instructions will be provided with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing date for this EOI. ***IMPORTANT NOTE: The tender documents will be sent via e-tendering platform only to the email address(-es) registered in companies’ UNGM account.
