Description
Based on the current demand for Satellite imagery and related services by the UN Secretariat (including UN field missions) and UN Entities worldwide to support their mandate and operational needs, the organization is seeking expressions of interests (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for: • Optical, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and other Satellite imagery which should be compliant with a geometric resolution (aka ground sampling distance, GSD) of less than 1-meter resolution for high resolution imagery; 1-10 meters for medium resolution and 10 meters and above for low resolution imagery; • Possibility to collect satellite videos of areas of interest of the UN; • Satellite imagery in all range of spatial resolutions compliant with the above geometric resolution requirement will be used to support global UN operations such as providing basic and current geographic information in a timely manner over an area of interest (AOI) illicit crop monitoring surveys, analysis of security and military activities, Internally Displaced person (IDP) and refugee analysis, remote monitoring, damage analysis, environmental assessment, feature extraction for topographical mapping, a basis for terrain analysis etc. The full technical requirements and details will be provided within a formal solicitation document (Request for Proposal) to be issued at a later stage soon after the closing date for this EOI. It is anticipated that a systems contract for the provision of Satellite imagery will be established for an initial period of three (3) years, with option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
