Laboratory study on deterimination of discriminating concentrations of insecticides for monitoring resistance in sandfly vectors
30.04.2020: the deadline is extended from 1st to 8th of May.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to enter into a contractual agreement with a successful bidder and select a suitable contractor to carry out the following work: laboratory study on determination of discriminating concentrations of selected insecticide compounds for monitoring resistance in sandfly vectors of leishmaniasis.
Widespread use of insecticides has led to development of resistance in sandfly vectors of visceral and cutaneous leishmaniasis. To monitor frequency of insecticide resistance in wild populations of sandfly vectors in disease endemic countries, WHO aims to determine, through a multi-centre study, discriminating concentrations of both commonly used and new insecticides using filter paper and bottle assay methodologies.
