Description

UNHCR plans to rehabilitate the main access road to the camps as current road conditions have hindered camps residents’ ability to access needed facilities outside of camps. The current roads are the only path to the nearby cities and most critical services, such as hospital, local markets, and schools. The project also aims to extend life-span of the current road. The project consists of rehabilitation of 650 meters length of road in Khanke and 1300 meters in Shekhan which includes:

  1. Earth works, removing the existing layer of double dressing from the roads;
  2. Laying a layer of crushed stones over the roads;
  3. A layer of asphalt concrete binder over the finished crushed stone’s layer;
  4. Provision of materials to lay a layer of subbase for the shoulders of the roads.
