CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD IN DOMIZ-1, REFUGEE CAMP IN DUHOK, IRAQ.
Domiz camp was established and prepared to host refugees Syrian refugees. To date, there are 44,811 refugees in the camps (Domiz 1 and Domiz 2). Since the establishment of the camp, main roads were improved including service. The work actual consist of upgrading two internal roads inside Domiz 1 camp in Duhok Governorate. The total length of the streets are approximately 1,050 meter in length with the width ranging from 6 to 8.5 meters wide. The first road connects the main road to the primary health center and is mainly used by ambulances in order to facilitate faster patients’ access. The second road parallel to the main road provides economic access for nearby shops.
Technically, the project components includes the construction of earthwork, base course work, open channels, and an asphalt layer for sealing of the road (refer to bill of quantity).
- The quality of the work and the materials supplied by the contractor will be inspected by UNHCR engineers and the local government engineers. The work must be within engineering specifications/standards and time limit.
- The Contractor is required to complete works as per the Bill of Quantities, and Technical Specifications within 180 days.
