Description
The Procurement Division (PD) of the United Nations is considering issuing a tender for a 12 month lease contract (with options to renew for two additional 12 month terms) for high speed, high volume digital printing equipment for the printing of documents and publications at its on site publishing facility at United Nations Headquarters in New York. PD also seeks to enter into a comprehensive maintenance contract for this printing equipment with service to be provided directly by the equipment manufacturer. Required Digital Equipment: For the purposes of the Request for Proposal, the United Nations is requesting vendors to provide proposal for a digital printing equipment solution, which will continue to provide the current services, as well as provide output for higher volume and speed, a range of formats up to 12” x 19”, a wide variety of paper from 60 gsm to 200 gsm weight. At least one monochrome machine proposed will utilize continuous feed technology from paper rolls and the ability to produce finished documents and publications as specified. All digital printing equipment shall be newly manufactured with no used or refurbished parts. The combined equipment should be capable of handling 15 million duplex letter size page impressions per month. Current Equipment: Currently there are six (6) Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro machines producing Black & White output, and two (2) Lanier LC155 producing color. All digital printing equipment is producing US letter size (8½” x 11”) and tabloid (11” x 17”) formats on 20lb to 110lb paper. The equipment is networked and has a server interface which accepts a wide range of inputs, most notably Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF. nterested firms/organizations should forward their Expression of Interest by e-mail (preferred mode) or facsimile to the attention of Ms. Minako Mochizuki indicating the title and reference number of this EOI.
