Provision of International Re-mailing Services The United Nations (hereafter referred to as the “UN”) seeks to establish non-exclusive contract(s) with qualified service provider(s) for the provision of international re-mailing services for the mail shipments dispatched from the United Nations Headquarters in the following mail categories: a- International First (1st) Class Airmail; b- International Second (2nd) Class Airmail; c- International Surface Book Rate Mail. The re-mailing services entails pickup, sorting and bulk international delivery with the intention to utilize the foreign postal systems and achieve cost savings for the UN. The UN has a projection of approximately 18,200 pounds/46,800 pieces of 1st class airmails, 4,400 pounds/3,200 pieces of 2nd class airmails and 6,800 pounds/1,600 pieces of book rate mails per year during the next 5 years. Based on the 2017 statistics, the Mail Operations Unit shipped 22,600 pounds/54,052 pieces of 1st class airmails, 1,363 pounds/934 pieces of 2nd class airmails and 4,320 pounds/685 pieces of book rate mails. The UN does not guarantee a minimum or maximum number of mails or shipments. The UN does not guarantee any monetary value or order any minimum amount of the services from the resulting contract(s) either. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, material and supplies, and for making all arrangements necessary to perform the services. It is estimated that the initial contract term will be for three (3) years, with the option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods at the sole discretion of the United Nations. The UN reserves the right to split the award between Proposers for different categories. Please be advised that this EOI does not constitute a solicitation. It should also be noted that the United Nations reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time.
