Web Portal Development

United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows:

"All-round technical development and support services during the guaranty period of an online Web Portal entitled "UNESCO World Atlas of Languages".

The UNESCO World Atlas of Languages (WAL) aims to contribute to the safeguarding of the world’s diverse linguistic, cultural and documentary heritage, in multiple languages, and reinforce the modalities for implementation of UNESCO’s Recommendation concerning the Promotion of Universal Access and Multilingualism in Cyberspace (2003) as well as other international normative instruments.

The aim of this contract is the provision of a new online web portal entitled "UNESCO World Atlas of Languages" (WAL) including a full development and support services provided during the guaranty period based on the existing "UNESCO Atlas of Languages in Danger", which is the Organization’s official website dedicated to linguistic diversity; and deployment of the new Web Portal on UNESCO’s server infrastructure. The services should cover the web application development services, including analysis, user experience design, project management and consultancy, and helpdesk / user support and training services.

The main deliverable is a fully functional online Web Portal "UNESCO World Atlas of Languages" (hereinafter called "Atlas") deployed on UNESCO’s server infrastructure, which includes a range of elements characteristic to the portals such as learning, partner, community, and customer portals, as well as related to cultural/linguistic, search and domain specific.
