Request for Proposal (RFP) No IRQ/P-081/09 for the provision of Governmental Capacity Building Trainings Courses

 

Background

Poverty reduction & the MDGs unit in UNDP Iraq is currently implementing Al- Muthana Capacity Building project. The project will promote ownership, synergy and sustainability of the various ongoing and completed ODA projects in Muthanna and will capitalize on success stories and lessons learned.  Special attention will be made to the active participation of the central and local governments and special consultation and coordination mechanism will be established to respond to the various capacity building needs.  The project will pay special attention to local authorities and technical departments’ capacity as well as to some extent to civil society organizations with a view to self-govern further improvements in basic services provision.

 

Therefore UNDP- Iraq is looking for recognized implementing partner/institutions/firms/organization/agency capable to conduct a government capacity building trainings in deferent areas. The training courses shall be conducted in Arabic language. Interpretation to Arabic during the training is not accepted.  

 

Trainings goal and strategy

The overall objective of the trainings will be to increase understanding of the training subject and to improve capacity for its implementation among Iraqi governorates authorities. 

 

Participants:

The trainings will target the following groups from the Iraqi Governorates: (i) representatives of the ministries and agencies, (ii) representatives of governorate authorities responsible for sectoral planning who shall be applying the training subjects to their planning processes,(iii) technical departments in the governorate, and (iv) UNDP COs representatives. Total number of participants should not exceed 30 persons – therefore consider this number in your financial proposal. 

 

There will be possibly additional 5 – 6 participants representing UNDP Country Offices.
