Description
1. The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) intends to conduct a competitive solicitation exercise for the provision of canteen and gift shop which shall be located in the United Nations Protected Area, Old Nicosia Airport for an initial period of three years with the UNFICYP's sole option to extend the term of the contract for an additional two (2) periods of one year each (3+1+1). 2. The successful Service Provider shall provide all equipment, materials and personnel at its own cost and expense. UNFICYP shall provide a facility at UNFICYP Headquarters within the UNPA, on an "as is" basis. The minimum service hours required are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00 hours, with optional working hours on Saturdays and Sundays. The Canteen and Gift shop shall cater hot/cold meals such as sandwiches, freshly made pizzas, salads (salad bar) and homemade soups and shall serve hot/cold refreshments such as coffee, tea, freshly squeezed juices and other beverages. The Canteen and Gift Shop shall also sell basic stationary, greeting cards, gift bags and postcards. 3. There are approximately 300 personnel accessing UNPA on a daily basis and a percentage of which may choose to use the requested services. However, UNFICYP does not guarantee that any minimum number of personnel, visitors and contractors who have daily access to the premises will utilize the requested services. The Canteen and Gift Shop will not be the sole catering outlet. It should be noted that, all payments shall be settled directly by the recipient of the services. UNFICYP shall not be responsible for the settlement of any costs related to this Contract. 4. In this regard, UNFICYP would like to identify qualified Service Providers that would be interested to participate in the competitive solicitation exercise. Vendors are requested to express their interest by providing all relevant information using the attached Vendor Response Form, also available on our website www.unficyp.org. The interest should be sent to the attention of Stella Kitti, Procurement Assistant, either via fax +357-22-614493 or via email unficyp-procurement@un.org no later than Tuesday, 24 October 2017. 5. UNFICYP reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant participation in the competitive bidding exercise. The UNFICYP reserves the right to change or cancel any of these requirements at any time during the EOI and/or the solicitation process.
