Description
1. The United Nations Procurement Division/Regional Procurement Office (UNPD/RPO), on behalf of MONUSCO, hereby invites qualified vendors to submit their Expression of Interest for Provision of Mortuary Services for UN Personnel. The Mortuary services are required in Entebbe and/or in the greater Kampala region, Uganda. 2. The Contract will be awarded on an “all inclusive” and “non-exclusivity basis”. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all the necessary personnel, supervision, equipment, material, supplies tool and accessories, as summarised below; a) The Contractor shall provide mortuary services consisting of body preparation, autopsy, funeral and related services, processing of death certificates and clearance with the local authorities in the area where the contractor operates. b) The Contractor shall prepare the body remains for repatriation in accordance with applicable international standards for embalmment and air transportation. c) The Contractor shall prepare, make-up and dress the body remains. d) The Contractor shall ensure that a temperature controlled cooling system is made available to ensure the preservation of body remains. e) The Contractor’s installations shall have a “failure-free” energy system to guarantee un-interrupted power source for the treatment and storage of body remains. f) The Contractor shall be available 24/7 to be contacted in case of need for mortuary services. h) The Contractor must be compliant with OSHA Guidelines for Funeral Homes and applicable regulations. g) The Contractor shall ensure that at the point of handling over the body remains the following documents are available with all necessary consular seals and approvals: i) Death Certificate. ii) Embalming Certificate. iii) Sealing Certificate. 3. The contractual requirements are intended to be for an initial period of one (1) year plus an option to extend for two one year periods(1+1). This requirement is on an 'as and when required' basis. 4. Companies interested must demonstrate their capability and provide evidence that they have enough resources and capacity to meet the requirement, including but not limited to license/authorisation issued by the Government/Regulator to provide the specific services, proof of agreement(s) that the company currently provides theses service to reputable organizations and evidence of availability of a skilled team. 5. Companies interested in providing the above services are invited to submit the vendor Response Form below, together with the following documents: a) Company’s address, contact person, telephone numbers and e-mail; b) Company’s registration number (if already registered with UN) and UNGM registration number (www.ungm.org). 6. As you express interest in the planned solicitation by submitting the response form, please verify and ensure that your company is registered under its full legal name with the UN Secretariat on the United Nations Global Marketplace (www.ungm.org). 7. Note that companies that have previously submitted EOI for similar services with UN must re-submit full documentation as detailed above. 8. Please note, this is not an invitation for submission of bid or proposals. Its purpose is to identify companies that would be interested to participate in the solicitation when issued. 9. The UNPD/RPO will examine the outcome of this request for EOI and will consider those companies that have expressed their interest providing the required information as to their ability to fulfill UNPD/RPO’s requirement. 10. The UNPD/RPO reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. The tender and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. 11. The expressions of interest (EOI) is to be submitted by e-mail to unesb-rpo@un.org no later than 18 October 2016 and clearly marked with the inscription “Provision of Mortuary Services in Uganda" 12. EOIs not addressing the above criteria to the satisfaction of UNPD/RPO shall not be considered for the solicitation to bid, if and when issued. UNPD/RPO reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the solicitation and mere expressing and interest would not automatically warrant for solicitation document. 13.
