Description
1. The East Africa Corridor (EAC) Project Management Team of Regional Service Centre Entebbe (RSCE) is planning to provide delivery of six different commodities (Air-conditioners, Household linen and Beddings, Cement, Electrical Cables, Furniture and Printing & Writing Paper) from various points of origin to the UN Missions within the region. 2. In this regard, Regional Procurement Office is seeking potential vendors to express their interest to participate in the solicitation exercise for the provision of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) services to include Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearance, Transportation and Related Services. 3. The requirements consist of the following: 3.1 An integrated multi-modal transportation service which encompasses all aspects of the door-to-door movement of the above six commodities and additional cargo that may be required during the entire life time of the contract. 3.2 Points of Origin: USA, Western Europe, UAE, Far East (China, India, etc) 3.3 Ports of Discharge: Douala (Cameroon), Port Sudan (Sudan), Mombasa (Kenya), Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Mogadishu Seaport (Somalia), Matadi (DRC). 3.4 Transit Inland Container Depots (ICDS): Embakasi - Nairobi, Malaba - Kenya/ Uganda, Isaka - Tanzania, Mukono - Uganda. 3.5 Final Destinations: Bangui (CAR), Juba (South Sudan), Mogadishu (Somalia), Entebbe (Uganda), Goma (DRC), El-Fasher (Sudan), Abeyi (Sudan), Nyala (Sudan), Khartoum (Sudan). 3.6 All consignments to DAT ICDS in either Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda should be made on Through Bills of Lading (TBL) and costs should include transit customs clearance from Port of Embarkation. 3.7 The Services may include packaging, shipment labelling, freight tracking, customs clearing, local warehousing, storage facilities and cold management services. 3.8 The cargo will include but will not be limited to Air-conditioners, Cement, Household Linen and Beddings, Electrical Cables, Furniture and Printing and Writing paper. 3.9 Annual projected quantities through: Mombasa = 5000 Twenty- Foot Equivalent Units (TEU) Port Sudan = 2500 TEU, and Douala = 2000 TEU. It should be noted that all cargo may not be containerized as it is possible to have break bulk cargo as well.
