Description

Background

Antimicrobial resistance is a global public health threat, with antimicrobial resistance reaching alarming levels in all six WHO regions both for community and hospital acquired infections. The misuse and abuse of antimicrobials, in particular antibiotics, is a major contributor to the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance.

The Action Agenda for Antimicrobial Resistance in the Western Pacific Region, which was endorsed by the Sixty-fifth session of the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific aims to contain AMR through raising awareness and developing multi-sectoral national action plans, building capacity for surveillance of AMR and antimicrobial use as well as strengthening the health system.

In order to raise awareness WPRO, will promote the second annual Antibiotic Awareness Week 14-20 November, 2016 and will encourage 37 countries and areas of the Western Pacific Region to hold national campaigns/ events during that week to raise awareness of the threat of antibiotic resistance and about the importance of responsible antibiotic prescribing and use.

In view of this, it is proposed to recruit a supplier to design an inforgraphic/poster using appropiate graphic design software that will highlight key messages on appropriate antimicrobial prescribing to relevant target audiences. The poster should be available in illustrator, pdf and other formats as deemed necessary by the Technical Unit

Purpose/Specific Objective of the Activity and Target Audience
