Portable Satellite Equipment and Services

The Information and Communications Technology Division (ICTD) of the Department of Field Support (DFS) in the United Nations is looking for portable satellite equipment and related services in order to provide prompt Telecommunications and Information Technology support to various existing and planned Peacekeeping and Political Missions throughout the world. The equipment and services must provide global coverage as UN operates worldwide. The required portable satellite services include, but is not limited to: global GPS tracking of personnel through small portable devices, tracking personal devices with emergency messaging capability, hand held satellite phones for voice and text data, push to talk (PTT) satellite radios with "talk groups", satellite internet + WiFi devices, and high speed internet connectivity on small rapid deployable terminals (less than 1 meter size) for capacities of at least 5 Mbps. All equipment offered including equipment for broadband data/internet access shall be air transportable and rapidly deployable. The service providers must be capable of providing 24/7 online or remote technical support .
