Description

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) intends to establish a commercial partnership with a company having sound experience in the managing of commercial activities similar to the one briefly described below. The company is expected to provide high level qualitative standards in all functional areas related to the service, with the aim of allowing FAO management to achieving established commercial targets by ensuring full efficiency of the points of sale as well as providing a high quality service to customers.

The purchasing, accounting and IT services will remain under the direct control of the FAO Commissary.

FAO is intending to outsource the following activities of two  supermarkets situated in Rome, Italy.

  • The running and supervision of one supermarket of 600m2 in the FAO headquarters as well as at a smaller supermarket of 170m2 situated at the World Food Program (WFP) headquarters in Parco di Medici, Rome.
  • The running of three warehouses and three stock rooms for a total of 800m2 circa.  All of which are within 50m of the salesroom(s).
  • The project may include the running of the FAO Brand Centre (53m2) and its warehouse/storerooms of (75m2).  This is a small, independent, store having the scope to sell FAO logo and travel retail items.  This small shop is situated on the ground floor of the main FAO building and all of its storage space is immediately adjacent to the salesroom.
