By way of this generic Request for Expression of Interest (EOI), the United Nations Global Service Centre/United Nations Logistics Base (UNGSC/UNLB) seeks qualified contractors for the provision of sea freight services required for the dispatch of the UN Equipment (mainly sea containers and vehicles) from UNGSC/UNLB in Brindisi, Italy on "as and when required basis" to worldwide destinations, including but not limited to: 1. Ashdod, Israel (CFR terms) The selected contractor shall be able to provide the following services: - Collection and transportation of UN Equipment from UNGSC, Brindisi - Italy to the designated port of exit with contractors owned equipment and personnel; - Transportation of the consignment from UNGSC, Brindisi- Italy to the final destinations above listed; - Issuance of Bill of Lading and all necessary documentation required for the transit of the consignment; - Payment of ocean freight and related BAF and CAF surcharges; - Payment of terminal handling charges and other related fees at the port of entry (Door deliveries only); - Handling and inland transportation of the consignment from the port of entry to the consignee's address (Door deliveries only); - Processing of import formalities at the point of entry (Door deliveries only). From time to time, UNGSC/UNLB will be sending specific requests for EOI for specific shipments to all those responded to this generic request for Expression of Interest and which are duly registered with UNGM, as instructed below, by the date when a specific requirement arises. For registering, please visit www.ungm.org and follow the online instructions to complete the registration process, by providing all the required information for at least Basic Level. In order to participate in UNGSC/UNLB solicitations, please ensure that "UN Secretariat" is selected among the list of UN Organizations. Once all the requested information has been filled in, please "submit" your application for UNGM approval. The registration is done by levels, which are determined by the monetary value of potential contracts, as shown below: - BASIC LEVEL (Estimated Contract Award less than US $40,000); - LEVEL 1 (Estimated Contract Award US $40,000 to less than US $500,000); - LEVEL 2 (Estimated Contract Award US $500,000 and above). Please note that the required Level of Registration for each freight service requirement will be clearly indicated in the tender documents. UNGSC/UNLB envisages that LEVEL 1 registration shall be sufficient for the wast majority of its individual freight forwarding requirements. General Conditions: Vendors are invited to express their interest via fax or email citing the full name of the company, complete address, telephone and fax number as well as the name and title of a designated point of contact. This notice does not constitute solicitation. The UNLB reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time in the EOI and/or solicitation process. The UNLB Procurement considers a firm's qualifications and experience in the particular commodity/service area, and previous performance, when preparing a list of invitees. Therefore, in case of EOIs concerning equipment or supplies, for responding vendors who are not manufacturers, full details of the vendor's status, as a factory-appointed wholesaler or distributor, must be provided if not already on file with UNLB Procurement.
