Contract for Construction of Concrete Water Retaining Tanks for UNIFIL: The United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has a requirement for the construction of concrete water retaining replacement tanks in the UNIFIL Area of Operation in South Lebanon. For this requirement, UNIFIL intends to establish a contract with a qualified company for an initial period of 1 year and 2x1-year optional extension periods. The successful contractor will be required to supply materials and to carry out, on an “as and when required basis”, the following works: - Construction of 18 sets reinforced cement concrete wastewater retaining tanks, each set containing two tanks (an aeration-clarification tank, 3 chambers and a reed bed tank, 2 chambers), the construction of tanks shall be grade 35. - Supply and installation of internal/external CPVC pipes; - Supply and fabrication of handrails and ladder of heavy duty galvanized pipes; - Supply and fabrication of stainless steel deflector plate; - Supply and application of water proof epoxy paints; - Supply and fabrication of dispersion shell; - Supply and placement of gravel; - Other construction materials needed for this project including preparation and excavation of sites. For the purpose of establishing a contract, UNIFIL will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly and consider inviting those companies that have expressed their interest and provided initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UNIFIL’s requirement.
