New clarification added: Clarification request no. 03Regarding the information we received from you following our second request we are looking for the different parameters in the wastewater to be treated - for example:Wastewater quality for design (min, max, average) :pH Temperature BOD₅ (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) TSS (Total Suspended Solids) Heavy Metals (Cd, Pb, Cr, Hg, Cu, Ni, Zn) Cyanide Phenols Chlorinated organics Toxic substances (e.g., solvents) Radioactive substances Microbiological (pathogens) UNOPS clarification response no. 03Please note that the building in question is currently under construction, and as such, no wastewater sampling or laboratory testing has been conducted to determine specific quantitative values for the influent water quality. Consequently, the Schedule of Requirements does not include min/max/average figures for parameters such as BOD₅, COD, TSS, heavy metals, cyanide, phenols, solvents, or microbiological/pathogen levels. However, the Schedule of Requirements provides a qualitative overview of the anticipated composition of the laboratory wastewater, based on the activities planned in the Departments of Chemistry and Biology. These include the use of:Acids, bases, and solventsOxidizing and reducing agentsHeavy metalsDisinfectants, fixatives, and stainsMicrobial culture materials and biological residuesThe treatment system should therefore be designed with the flexibility to handle variable and mixed wastewater from typical laboratory operations, encompassing both chemical and biological contaminants.Should further characterization or sampling be required, this can be explored during the implementation stage, once the facility is operational. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you require any additional clarification.
