Description
The United Nations intend to issue a solicitation in the next few months to establish a global system contract for the provision of rifle/carbine firearm for 5.56x45 NATO calibre. The Global System contract allowing all UN entities to place Purchase Order directly with the contract awarded Vendor (s) as per prices, terms and conditions stated in the final contract for the supply of rifle/carbine firearm will be awarded for an initial period of one (1) year with an option to extend for two additional 1-year periods (1+1+1) at the sole discretion of the UN and upon satisfactory performance of the contractor.The United Nations would like to understand some key aspects of the current market situation.
This comprehensive questionnaire is designed to gather detailed information from manufacturers and suppliers regarding the suitability and availability of rifle/carbine firearm options for UN field missions, with a focus on providing protection for low-risk environments to high-risk environments.

2.1 Describe in detail the rifle/carbine firearm that is proposed, including but not limited to its properties, materials from which parts are made, operating system, barrel length, overall lengths, weight.
2.2 Provide technical brochures/ catalogues detailing the information with pictures/drawings, including technical specifications and characteristics of your rifle/carbine.
2.3 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use semi-automatics and full automatics firing modes? If yes, please explain how and the rate of fire.
2.4 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use gas piston short stoke operating system with a rotating bolt and is the gas piston adjustable for usage of suppressors? If yes, please explain how.
2.5 Does the proposed rifle/carbine uses ambidextrous safety selector, magazine release and cocking handle? If yes, please explain how.
2.6 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use telescopic, foldable buttstock with adjustable cheek rest? If yes, please explain how.
2.7 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use 30 rounds M16/M4 style STANAG magazines? If yes, please explain how.
2.8 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use non-reciprocating cocking handle? If yes, please explain how.
2.9 Does the proposed rifle/carbine lock the bolt to the rear on the last shot? If yes, please explain how.
2.10 Does the proposed rifle/carbine offer different length of barrels subcompact, carbine and rifle length and modularity between them? If yes, please provide barrel lengths.
2.11 Does the proposed rifle/carbine use MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail on the upper receiver on top and/or other three sides (left, right and bottom) to mount sights and accessories? If yes, please explain how.
2.12 How does the proposed product compare with other similar existing products available in the market for 5.56x45 NATO caliber rifles/carbines, in terms of reliability (please provide if there were any reliability test/studies conducted for your rifle/carbine), training support for armorers, supply of accessories and spare parts, maintainance support?
