New clarification added: Clarification Request 37:Question 1:LOT 1 – Item 1.1 - Island bench service spine - closed with blind panels1- The item’s name implies that this is a part of a central workbench, but clearly this item is a structure that will be placed against the wall.- Please confirm is this correct?2- Furthermore, this service spine must be closed with blind panels, but that means that the picture provided for this item in Section II – Schedule of Requirements in the right column it’s not completely relevant. To be sure, when a service spine it’s closed with blind panels, that means that it must be equipped with panels from the lower shelf down to at least the worktop height (750_900 mm) – so that the laboratory wall is not accessible when using the workstation. - Please confirm if this is the way these service spines must be manufactured?3- Specification line 3 - It is understood that the spines must feature 2 shelves in the upper part (depth: 250 mm).- Please clearly state the shelves material and thickness?Question 2:LOT 1 - Item 1.2 - Island bench service spine - openSpecification line 4 - It is understood that the spines must feature 2 shelves in the upper part (depth: 250 mm).- Please clearly state the shelves material and thickness.Question 3:LOT 2 - Item 2.1 and 2.2Specification line 6.- Please confirm if we are we allowed to use steel tubes (30 mm X 60 mm section, 1.5 thickness), as this is in compliance with all the relevant and actual EU manufacturing standard in laboratory furniture?Question 4:LOT 2 – Item 2.2 - Table with integrated sink- Please inform us about the required sink dimensions for this position?Question 5:LOT 3 – Item 3.13 - Cabinet with mounted sink element- Please inform us about the dimensions of the sink regarding this position?Question 6:LOT 3 – Item 3.16 - Double glass door wall-mounted cabinet- Please confirm if we have to consider double glass door because the technical description is not mentioning glass door?Question 7:LOT 4 – Item 4.1 - Adjustable Lab Chair with backrest and wheels- Please confirm that black polyurethane (injection-moulded with inner frame) is acceptable as the most hygienic material for laboratory chairs.- Both technologies cannot be used in the same laboratory chair.UNOPS Clarification Response 37:Please note the following:Item 1.1 – Island bench service spine - closed with blind panelsQuestion 1: Yes, the item name implies it's part of a central workbench, but in this case, it is a structure to be placed against the wall. This is correct.Question 2: Yes, the service spine must be closed with blind panels. As specified, the panels should extend from the lower shelf up to at least the worktop height (750–900 mm), ensuring that the laboratory wall is not accessible while using the workstation. This configuration is essential for the structure's functionality.Question 3: Any material that meets the corrosion-resistant requirements and is suitable for easy removal and interchangeability would be acceptable. The thickness of the material should align with the functional and durability standards required for laboratory use, ensuring long-term performance and ease of maintenance.Item 1.2 – Island bench service spine - openThe material and thickness of the shelves for this item should match the requirements specified for Item 1.1. Any material that meets the corrosion-resistant standards and is suitable for laboratory use is acceptable. The thickness should align with functional and durability standards to ensure long-term performance and reliability in a laboratory environment.Item 2.1 and 2.2 – C-Frame table with Laminate worktop without marine edge, Table with integrated sinkIf steel tubes with a section of 30 mm x 60 mm and a thickness of 1.5 mm meet the relevant EU manufacturing standards for laboratory furniture, the use of these materials is acceptable.Item 2.2 – Table with integrated sinkThe required sink dimensions should are not specified, but typically, sinks of sufficient size to accommodate standard laboratory use (based on functionality) are expected. These should be made of corrosion-resistant material.Item 3.13 – Cabinet with mounted sink elementThe sink for this item should conform to the specifications mentioned for integrated sinks in other items. It should be made of high-grade epoxy resin or polypropylene, resistant to chemicals, with cold and hot water connections and wastewater outlets.Item 3.16 – Double glass door wall-mounted cabinetYes, double glass doors are required as per the specification. The technical description implicitly requires glass doors by referring to a "double glass door design."Item 4.1 - Adjustable Lab Chair with backrest and wheelsThe black polyurethane foam on a steel base, as specified in the TS, is the material intended for the lab chair. This meets durability and hygiene standards, and we do not propose using injection-moulded polyurethane with an inner frame for this item.

New clarification added: Clarification Request 25:Item No. 3.10 - Underbench Cabinet on PlinthThe item title indicates that the cabinet is intended to be mounted on a plinth (fixed base). However, the detailed specifications under the "Swivel Castors" section state that the cabinet must include four swivel castors, which suggests a movable unit.Could you please clarify whether the cabinet should:Be fixed on a plinth as indicated in the title, orInclude swivel castors as specified in the details? This clarification is essential to ensure compliance with the tender requirements.UNOPS Clarificaiton Response 25:Please note that the cabinet should be mounted on a fixed base/plinth as indicated in the title. Or, for the remaining areas, should knee panels be added for a better appearance ?(d) Item 3.20 indicates that the casing must be made of high-density chipboard coated with high-quality melamine resin. However, in the paragraph above, it is mentioned as MDF, which aligns with the specifications of other cabinet items. Can we consider using laminated MDF with PVC lipping for all items, or is there a specific reason for the variation in this item?UNOPS Clarification Response 24: Please be adviced that:(a) The specified colors must conform to the following:Worktop: RAL 9003 (Signal White), with an acceptable tolerance of ±5% in shade variation.Cabinets: RAL 7011 (Iron Grey), with an acceptable tolerance of ±5% in shade variation.Frames: RAL 7011 (Iron Grey), with an acceptable tolerance of ±5% in shade variation.(b) For items 2.1 and 2.2 (C-frames), knee panels are currently not specified in the provided requirements. The material must have high-quality melamine resin, with a 3 mm PP (Polypropylene) edge. The dimensions of the casing should allow a tolerance of ±2 mm for thickness and ±5 mm for length and width.has been replaced with:"The casing must be made of 18 mm MDF with a white finish. New clarification added: Clarification Request 02:1) You require light grey upholstery by Dralon, but this material is typically used for outdoor purposes. We are unable to identify a fabric matching the parameters set. Why should chairs for indoor use be upholstered by an outdoor fabric? Could you please elaborate further?2) Connected with Q1 – you require black polyurethane. Polyurethane is a hard plastic, not intended to be holstered. Is it a mistake? 3) Dimensions – can we count with 10 % tolerance?UNOPS Clarification Response 02:Please be advised that: 1) The selection of Dralon fabric is intentional due to its high durability, resistance to wear, and suitability for heavy-duty environments like laboratories or high-traffic areas. While it is typically used for outdoor furniture, its properties, such as resistance to stains, scuffs, and abrasions, make it an excellent choice for this indoor application.2) The use of black polyurethane in this context refers to polyurethane foam, which serves as a structural component for the seat and backrest; The foam is not directly exposed but is instead covered with the specified heavy-duty fabric or vinyl upholstery (light grey Dralon); This design ensures ergonomic comfort while maintaining durability against tool damage and mildly acidic substances, as outlined in the specifications.3) Yes, a 10% tolerance for dimensions is acceptable, provided the deviations do not compromise the functionality, ergonomic properties, or overall aesthetic of the design.
