Description

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is seeking a suitable contractor capable of supplying a six colour digital press A3+ with a highly versatile sheet fed press and leading digital offset that can deliver unmatched digital offset and photo quality with exceptional versatility and high productivity. The digital press must meet the need for high quality digitally printed products, and UNECA's ever-growing need for print on demand. The press must be able to switch between jobs and media types, with a new added ability to print on synthetics. It should be ideal for printing various job mixes and support Print on Demand (PoD), and must have the capability of printing well over two million colour pages or five million monochrome pages per month with a wide range of substrates including uncoated and coated papers, as well as unique substrates such as synthetics, dark, transparent, metallic, and recycled media, and paperboard.

An interested vendor should;

 * be an approved agent or manufacturer of digital A3+equipment (proof of evidence required). and be ready to install, train, commission and offer back up services and after sales services,

* show evidence of supply of similar equipment, installation, training and commissioning of at least five digital printing presses of similar nature in the last four years (Note:- Not offset conventional printing or photocopier.)

Vendors who express their interest will be invited to participate in a tender through a  “Request for Proposal” (RFP).  This tender will envisage the selection of a single firm to undertake the above-mentioned works with  the described specifications that are detailed in the RFP.

UNECA is precluded from entering into a contract with a firm that is not fully registered with UNECA and  United Nations Global MarketPlace (UNGM).  Those interested in responding to this invitation but not currently fully registered, as vendors with UNECA, are encouraged to register.  The registration Form and “Vendor Response Form” could be downloaded from www.uneca.org/procurement or similar documents could also be collected from the UNECA, Supply Chain Management Section, 2nd floor.  In order to be eligible for the UN Registration, please make sure to declare in writing the Prerequisite for Eligibility criteria itemized from A-E as contained in the attached EOI instruction.
