In an effort to improve services and become more efficient, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) is at times required to seek support from additional resources in areas that are beyond the capacity of its current core staff members, who are required to perform core administrative and technical management tasks and who are familiar in the rules and procedures of the United Nations. UNESCAP therefore intends to engage qualified contractors (service providers) who can provide Outsourcing Services in the following units and areas of expertise: Document Reproduction and Printing Unit (DRPU) The Document Reproduction and Printing Unit (DRPU), which falls under the Conference and Documentation Services Section, Office of the Executive Secretary, provides supportive services to the ESCAP Secretariat in reproducing documents for the legislative meetings, i.e., annual Commission session, ministerial, high-level, intergovernmental, regional projects, ACPR and non-ESCAP meetings. To ensure the uninterrupted operation of the print facility, DRPU is seeking the services of outsourced staff members to provide support mainly in the following areas: - operating heavy duty digital photocopiers and various equipment related to printing and issuance of ESCAP meeting documents and publications; - distributing ESCAP meeting documents and publications to the secretariat and various institutions; - servicing major ESCAP legislative meetings, intergovernmental meetings and ACPRs, as well as undertaking any other official assignment as needed. While fulfilling in-house printing and publication needs, the outsourced personnel will also assist in providing immediate support and services during high-participation level meetings and events all year round, such as the Commission sessions, committees, etc. Protocol, Visa and Transportation Unit During the course of the year, ESCAP organizes numerous high-level meetings in its premises in Bangkok and abroad, which see the participation of many ministers, high-ranking officials, UN senior officials and other VIP participants requiring protocol, transportation and visa support. In addition, due the nature of its operations and activities involved, ESCAP needs to process a very high number of visa requests for its own staff members and staff members from ESCAP client agencies travelling on official business, as well as requests for Thai non-immigrant visa and stay permits for UN staff living in Thailand. Information Management, Communications and Technology Section (IMCTS) The Information Management, Communications and Technology Section (IMCTS) is at times required to seek IT Support consisting of the following tasks:  Help Desk Assistants  Telecommunications Assistant Central Support Services Section: Central Support Services Section requires professional building maintenance, engineering and architectural support services to fulfill professional engineering and architectural services on major maintenance and alteration projects within UNESCAP.
