Description
The Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (hereinafter known as “OSESGY”) and the office of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (hereinafter known as “UNMHA”) intends to enter into an agreement for the provision of GPS/Satellite tracking and communication system that can be used to track the road convoys and patrols and enhance communication for UNMHA/OSESGY throughout its area of operations. The system needs to be portable and operate efficiently in remote locations where internet or cellular coverage is not available. This requirement also outlines the services that the supplier will be expected to perform with regards to the acquisition, configuration, training and maintenance of the proposed tracking and communication system.
The solution will be used by UNMHA/OSESGY personnel in the area of operations, including Djibouti, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Maintenance and repairs of the software and hardware components included in the system, both within and outside of warranty, should primarily be conducted in Amman, Jordan. Supplier’s ability to provide maintenance and repairs in other locations in UNMHA/OSESGY area of operation is desirable.
The subscription plan shall be for two (2) years with the option to extend for three additional one-year periods (1+1+1) total 5 years. The extensions will be subject to the satisfactory performance of the contractor, availability of funds and extension of the mission mandate
For this purpose, UNMHA/OSESGY will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly, accordingly would issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UN’s requirement. In addition, the interested companies will be requested to complete a UNGM Registration at Basic Level.
This EOI does not constitute a solicitation. OSESGY reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to an EOI does not automaticaly guarantee that such compay will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued .
INTERESTED VENDORS SHOULD NOTE THAT THE MINIMUM LEVEL FOR REGISTRATION FOR THIS TENDER IN UNGM (www.ungm.org) IS BASIC LEVEL, COMPANIES WHICH ARE NOT FULLY REGISTERED IN UNGM MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE UPCOMING TENDER.
